Welcome to Attwood Marshall Lawyers

History of Attwood Marshall

Attwood Marshall traces its foundations to post war 1946 when the late Eric Attwood commenced a practice in the Tweed Heads/Coolangatta area at the conclusion of World War II. Eric Attwood subsequently formed a partnership with Bob Marshall and Jack Woodward to form Attwood Marshall & Woodward. Eric’s son, Richard Attwood joined the partnership in the 1970’s and Jack Woodward left to set up his own practice in 1979. From that point on, the firm has been known as Attwood Marshall. Although still associated with the firm’s progress and activities, Bob Marshall retired from the practice in 1989 and Richard Attwood retired in 2001.

In its heyday, the firm had 8 partners, 3 offices and 100 staff.

The firm currently has 51 staff and has become an incorporated legal practice in accordance with the provisions of the Legal Profession Act 2007 Qld.

Fundamental Intent and Positioning of Attwood Marshall Lawyers

The fundamental intent of our business is to help people. We are one of the few legal firms to offer an all round legal service to our clients and if there are some specialty areas that we do not accommodate, we have relationships with specialty firms that can accept referrals from us in this area.

According to many surveys conducted around the nation, the three most stressful issues in most peoples’ lives are death, divorce and moving house. You can probably add someone being seriously injured to this list. It is ironic that these are four of the main areas of our legal practice. Simply being aware of our clients going through these stressful times and dealing with them empathetically are things that we take very seriously and implement through our organisation.

Why Use Attwood Marshall Lawyers?

1. Confidentiality;
2. Being listened to and understood;
3. Having a relationship with the person acting for you and them being available to speak with within a reasonable frame;
4. Ensuring that there is certainty in exactly what work we perform for you and what our fees and charges will be;
5. That we perform your work in a timely manner and keep you informed as to the progress of same;
6. That we have the appropriate technical expertise and high ethical standards.

Needless to say, we have accepted this feedback and have developed our practice to reflect these issues in the work that we do for you.
